Everyone says that having multiple sex partners can cause hiv is it true?

so will a girl who had sex with 10 men can get hiv even if they don't have hiv?Everyone says that having multiple sex partners can cause hiv is it true?
no it just takes 1 person...so if a girl had never had sex then had sex with someone with hiv(to catch hiv you must have sex with an infected person) then she would get it..what you mean is the more people one sleeps with, the higher the chance one would catch an std.Everyone says that having multiple sex partners can cause hiv is it true?
You can not get HIV from someone who does not have HIV. HIV does not appear out of nowhere when people have sex. However, having multiple sexual partners raises the risk that you will wind up having sex with someone who DOES have HIV, because if you have multiple sexual partners, it is very likely that your partners have multiple partners of their own.
Having multiple partners does NOT CAUSE HIV.

Having multiple partners with one of whom is infected can TRANSMIT the HIV virus from another person to her. Further, she could spread it to one of the other partners and not know it.

Further, if one of the partners had HIV from sharing needles or having had sex with someone who shared needles with an infected person then she could get HIV.

Your end question ';if a girl had sex with 10 men who do not have HIV she won't get HIV.'; That is a true question.

Just one thing -- MEN LIE!!! One of the 10 could have HIV and know it but lies about it.

If the girl is you and you have had sex with 10 men -

1. stop having sex

2. get tested for HIV

3. get tested for other STD's as well.

4. Grow Up! Take some pride in yourself and get a life that does not revolve around sex.
No, that is not true.

You can only get HIV by having sex with an infected person. Even if it's the only person you've ever had sex with.

But if you have sex with 10 people and none of them have HIV, no, you can't get it.

The number of people you've had sex with doesn't matter.

But using condoms can give you 98% protection against HIV. So, wear condoms, get tested regularly, and you won't have to worry about it so much.
No if the people are all confirmed to be HIV negative, you cannot get HIV,,, but other STD's are out there ya know. Multiple sex partners just increases the risk for HIV because there is a higher risk of sleeping with someone who is HIV positive. Always use a condom, they are 98% effective if used properly.
If you have sex with a girl who has sex with alot of different men but she does not have HIV then you will not get HIV because she is not giving it to you. However you are putting yourself at higher risk for getting it because she might get it sooner or later and not know she has it. Then if you have sex with her you could get it.
C. Cobain is correct, every time you get a new partner or add a new partner to your list, you expand the percentages of getting something unwanted. If you do this, knowingly, then for Pete's sake take the safety measures. Keep condom with you, get check-up's regularly and don't take chances with strangers,.
Okay, it depends. See lets take your example of the girl who sleeps with the 10 men. Alright, well even if the men ';technically'; do not have HIV, they actually could be carriers of it. Make since? You never know for sure about anyone's elses status until you basically see the paper work dear. All I can tell you is if you're going to have multiply partner, protect you! Get checked at least every 6 months, use condoms and things like that.
No one of the men would have had to have HIV for her to get infected...but I would stay clear of a girl who has had 10 sexual partners cause you sound young %26amp; if this girl is your age thats way too much! Also most likely if she says 10 it's more! Look for a good girl %26amp; no matter what use protection cause AIDS is no joke!
How do you know all of them dont have HIV?

10men have 10 partners each = 100 people

then you will be 101, what are the chances of being negative, you may know your man but will never know his EXs sexual background. Wake up. Swine flu virus has been there for 3months how many people are infected today? AIDS has been there for over 20years how many people would you think are infected today???

grow up %26amp; be in control of your own life.
As the others have said, sex with multiple partners can increase your chance of infection of not only HIV but other STD's as well. Here is an article that you might find interesting. Good luck!

No someone has to have it to give it. It's more likely to get it though if you have allot of partners.
No, but when you have sex with someone, you not only have sex with them but with everyone they've had sex with.

You might chose your partners more selectively.
