Just a simple yes or no is all I need. No best answers for long answers so don't bother, links are okay even though you don't need to post them for me.Is it true that lovebirds need a partner or they will die?
No friend had a solo one for many years. Is it true that lovebirds need a partner or they will die?
no
i dont think so, its just a name
The answer is: NO!
We found one in our backyard...
He was perfectly fine living with us (and what they will do is attach themself to one of the HUMANS in the house...like my husband !)
Note: A SINGLETON is the term for one (1) Lovebird...
(One more thing...The Vet told me that if I tried to get Him a ';girlfriend'; that He might BEAT HER UP, so don't try it !)
no i had 1 alone for 5 years and she did just fine
no. They mate for life however. So once their mate dies, they will not find a new one to replace it.
yes --or not die but be forlorn
no dnt think so
No, it is not true!
no, they can do fine on their own.
yes
If you get another lovebird, you will lose the one you have as a companion - they will take to the other bird more than they will you; I got this from a bird breeder. It is good, however, for them to have a companion for company, but I've seen many people just keep one. As long as they are well-taken care of and healthy, and aren't showing any signs of distress, you don't need to get another bird.
